taj mahal 2019

There are many interesting side trips from the Strip that you might not have known about if you're a new visitor to Vegas. While many people associate Las Vegas with gambling and glitz and glamor, there are many other things to see and do in the Sin City. Last week we discussed some of the lesser known gems located just outside of Las Vegas Strip.

Jeff German

German has been podcasting for the last few decades. He wrote a series about the fight against organized crime, "Mobbed Up: The Fight For Vegas," which was produced by the Review-Journal and Mob Museum. The series covered the shady characters that inhabited the Las Vegas Valley in the 1970s and 80s.

His reporting uncovered political corruption and three decades of organized crime in Las Vegas. Most notable, he broke news of the 2017 mass shooting which saw more than 60 victims and injured. He also wrote a true crime book about the mob connections in the area. In 1998, he broke the story of Ted Binion's assassination. He worked also with a CNN analyst to cover the Binion story.
